Biography
I was born and raised in the north of England. After leaving school, I acquired a liking for Boddington's bitter and began writing poetry & anecdotal prose based on life in the north. During this time I became fascinated with the works of Alan Bennett, Philip Larkin, John Betjeman, Oscar Wilde, Shelagh Delaney, George Formby, Dorothy Parker, Sylvia Plath and Morrissey. During the late eighties and early nineties I submitted my poetry to many publishers hence I currently have enough rejection letters to decorate my entire living room. The poems have since been ceremoniously destroyed! On a less serious note, I am looking forward to completing my book ‘The World Won’t Listen’ and launching it to the unsuspecting masses in early-mid 2004!
I still reside in the north and I live with a northern lass who doesn't understand me either, as I trying to write my way out of this existence!
Finally, I’m urging everyone to write to the script writers of Coronation Street at Granada Studios to pitch me for the position of the new (& much younger) Jack Duckworth!
